Leslie Bennett is a main character in the first and second seasons Euphoria. She is portrayed by Nika King, while her 14-year-old counterpart is portrayed by Malia Barnhardt.
After losing her husband, Leslie takes care of Rue and Gia on her own. She’s a loving, caring mother navigating how to best help Rue after her overdose.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Not much is known about Leslie's early life, other than that she met her husband Robert Bennett prior to the show's beginning. When Rue was born, she struggled with raising a daughter that was diagnosed with several mental illnesses at a young age.
At some point, she gets diagnosed with some anxiety disorder, being prescribed Xanax which her daughter Rue steals from her.
Season 1[]
Pilot[]
An angry Leslie demands for Rue to tell her where she was after coming home late. The two have a heated argument, with Leslie telling Rue that she doesn't trust her. Leslie tells Rue that she is not allowed to leave the house without being tested for drugs. Unbeknownst to Leslie, Rue cheats the test. The two have a conversation and Leslie forgives Rue, giving her permission to stay the night at Lexi's house.

Leslie and Rue share an extremely complicated relationship, held together by motherly love and Leslie's desperation to save her daughter from her crippling drug addiction. Leslie finds it extremely difficult to trust Rue ever since she overdosed, constantly worrying about her when she isn't home. Although they share a strong bond, they are prone to arguing due to Rue being an addict, with Leslie often being subject to cruel insults. Despite this, Leslie loves her daughter deeply and often does everything she can to get her the help she needs.
