"Trying to Get to Heaven Before They Close the Door"[]

At some point on New Year's Eve, Nate Jacobs gives Cassie Howard a ride to Virgil's New Year's Eve party after seeing her sitting outside of a gas station. On the way to the party, Nate's drinking while driving and ends up speeding causing Cassie to spill her beer on her dress. Sometime after Cassie takes her underwear off and tosses them into the backseat of Nate's pick-up, they arrive at the party. Her sister Lexi is looking for her and she comes across Maddy who needs to use the bathroom. While they are hooking up, Maddy beats on the door because she has to pee. After realizing that it's Maddy outside the door, Nate tells Cassie to get dressed and they'll figure something out. After a while, Maddy gets into the bathroom, with Nate watching the door closely because Cassie is hiding in the bathtub. Cassie tries to cover her mouth to keep Maddy from hearing her breathing hard and whimpering out of fear her best friend may find her. Maddy eventually ends up using the bathroom. When she's done, she's still on the toilet when she realizes there's no toilet paper, so she has to use a wash rag instead. After she uses it, she drops it in the tub where Cassie is hiding. Cassie is disgusted by this. A party-goer named Travis ends up in the bathroom with Maddy and tries to woo her. Maddy rejects his advances, and a little while later, Cassie's phone goes off, and Travis sees her in the bathtub and remarks, "There's a girl passed out in the bathtub." Maddy expresses she doesn't care.

After a few moments, Maddy leaves the bathroom to dance with Travis and a guy comes in to use it and Cassie takes it as her opportunity to leave the bathroom.[1]
