Aaron Jacobs is a recurring character in Euphoria. He is portrayed by Zak Steiner.
He is son of Marsha and Cal Jacobs. He also is brother of Nate Jacobs, nephew of Cassandra Jacobs, grandson of Margaret and Bud Jacobs, and presumed cousin of Dean Jacobs.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Aaron was born in 1995, to Marsha and Cal Jacobs and is Nate's older brother. Not much is known about Aaron, although according to Rue he is considered to be a "fuck-up" by both Cal and Nate because Aaron doesn't live up to the high expectations their father demands of them as he "didn't have guts or brains or half a fucking clue".
Season 1[]
Aaron is seen in "Stuntin' Like My Daddy" in a family photo along with Nate, Dean, and their parents.
He appears in "Shook Ones Pt. II" at the carnival with his family in their chili & food booth. During a conversation between Cal Jacobs, Chris McKay, and Cassie Howard, when Cal asks Chris why his chili was voted as the best chili in the county for five years in a row, Aaron interjects and says "cause you refuse to lose" while drinking. Cal responds by saying that it's all about who you want to become in the world. After Cal's confrontation with Jules Vaughn, Aaron asks Nate who she is, after learning that she's a junior at East Highland, he calls her "jailbait".
Aaron appears again in "The Next Episode", along with the rest of his family while they try to continue life as normal and eat at the restaurant, despite an ongoing investigation with Nate and Maddy's allegation of abuse. He orders the mac & mash, although the family later leaves the restaurant after the restaurant manager, Tim, asks Cal to leave to preserve the reputation of his restaurant from the ongoing investigation.
Relationships[]
Family[]
Cal Jacobs[]
Cal and Aaron share a father-son relationship that is predominantly neutral, marked by daily coexistence without major conflicts or extreme affection. While Cal always maintained an emotional detachment, he harbored a certain contempt for Aaron's procrastinating personality. Cal, a more practical and results-oriented father, frequently expressed his frustration with Aaron's approach to life and goals. He saw procrastination as an obstacle to Aaron's future success and often tried to offer advice or guidance, albeit in more distant ways.
Despite their differences, the relationship between Cal and Aaron was not entirely strained. They shared some moments of connection in everyday activities, but the challenge was finding common ground between such different personalities.
The dynamic between them began to change when Cal realized that Aaron's more laid-back approach to life wasn't necessarily a sign of a lack of ambition. Over time, Cal began to accept and even appreciate Aaron's uniqueness, confirming that success can take different forms and trajectories.
Marsha Jacobs[]
Aaron has always been Marsha's favorite child, from a young age. Although he was never an exemplary student at school, Marsha always praised his achievements and was proud of the young man he was becoming. The special relationship between Aaron and Marsha may have roots in their close complicity since childhood. They share similar interests, and always find time to enjoy these activities together.
The rest of the family sometimes notices the special dynamic between mother and child, and this can cause some tension. Nate may feel like they don't get the same attention or praise as he does. However, Marsha makes a point of expressing her love for her two children in a unique way, highlighting the different qualities of each one. Despite this, Marsha sees Aaron's mistakes quite clearly.
Nate Jacobs[]
Aaron and Nate, always two distant brothers, have always had a tense relationship since childhood. Personality differences contributed to the lack of closeness between them. Aaron, the oldest, was a free spirit, dedicated to the arts and philosophy, while Nate, the youngest, was more practical and science-oriented. Divergences between their interests often resulted in disagreements and, eventually, emotional distance.
The situation worsened when his father left the house. Nate, already inclined to despise Aaron's life choices, now also carried resentment over his father's absence (although he wasn't sad). He saw Aaron as a dreamy idealist, unable to understand the complexities of real life. In turn, Aaron felt Nate's lack of emotional support and sensed the growing hostility between them.
However, the father's departure became an unexpected turning point. With the responsibility of dealing with family changes, Aaron and Nate began to see each other differently. Adversity forced them to support each other and find ways to overcome differences.
Eventually, the two brothers realized that despite their differences, they shared a deeper connection as members of the same family. Aaron brought a creative perspective and sensitivity to the challenges they faced, while Nate contributed his rationality and practical skills.
As they began to overcome their differences and work together to overcome family difficulties, Aaron and Nate discovered that they could complement each other in surprising ways. Mutual understanding grew, and the hostility that previously existed between them gave way to a more supportive and friendly relationship. The reconciliation process was not easy, but the difficult period they faced brought out a new appreciation for each other as brothers.

- ↑ 1.0 1.1 According to the script of "Stuntin' Like My Daddy" in The Euphoria Books: S1 Boxed Set, Aaron was originally intended to be 21 years old. However, given that the night Cal and Derek shared together occurred 25 years before 2019, this would result in Aaron's age being 24, as Cal received a call from Marsha announcing her pregnancy the next morning. 2019 minus 25 is 1994, plus 9 months of pregnancy would mean Aaron was most likely born in 1995.
